Honey-Chipotle Barbecue Chicken Skewers Recipe

The Best Grilled Chicken Skewers You'll Ever Taste

Let the fun, fireworks, and of course cookouts begin!

We love Fourth of July. It is the holiday that officially marks the beginning of Summer, bringing with it all sorts of outdoor activities. The beach, the pool, and the park are all some of our favorite places to visit during the hot Summer days, and I am not going to lie, sometimes, I really wish I could carry my grill around with me everywhere we go.

Fourth of July is the perfect day to bring together family and friends for a good, old-fashioned backyard cookout, and nothing says cookout like barbecue sauce. A thick, smoky, and perfectly sticky barbecue sauce can transform your grilled meat into something special when given the right flavors.

In celebration of the Independence Day festivities, let us all enjoy these scrumptious grilled honey-chipotle barbecue chicken skewers. Perfectly charred with a smoky, sweet, and spicy barbecue sauce, these chicken skewers are sure to make everyone drool.

They are so simple to make. Simply thread the chicken on some skewers alternating with some vegetables. I used bell peppers and onion. Place them on the grill to cook, turning them occasionally to get that nice char on all sides. Let cook for about 10 to 15 minutes. For the sauce, mix chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, honey, and regular old barbecue sauce until combined. When the chicken skewers are almost cooked through, brush them with plenty of the honey-chipotle barbecue sauce, and they are done! Pair them with some bread, corn, or tortillas, and you are set for the day.

Make sure you have enough for everyone because once they try them, they won't want to stop eating them and will be coming back for more, and more, and more. The depth of flavors in these grilled honey-chipotle barbecue chicken skewers is out of this world. One little bite and you will be seeing fireworks. Literally!

Notes

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about an hour before grilling to keep them from burning on the grill.
